Author Biography Sketch
Peter Black lives in Southwestern Ontario with his wife, May. Their three sons, two daughters-in-law and six grandchildren all live within a one to three hours’ drive. His earliest recognized writing effort was when in elementary school he won the award in his age group in a contest sponsored by the Ford Motor Company in Essex, England, in celebration of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. He enjoys writing short stories and poetry, and composing worship and praise songs. But he gets some of his biggest kicks out of playing and singing his head off amongst a bunch of seniors in those residences where you have the least critical of audiences! Black has, since 1996, contributed an inspirational column, P-Pep! to the Watford Guide Advocate, a weekly community newspaper. His writing, until recently, has mostly been done ‘in-house’ within the context of his pastoral work. And that context was the genesis of Parables from the Pond. He is gratefully proud to be a member of The Word Guild, an organization of Canadian writers and editors who are Christian.

Artist / Illustrator Biography Sketch
Ben Guse, graphic designer and animator, is a graduate of Sheridan College, Oakville, Ontario, who resides in Kitchener (also Ontario), with his wife Carrie and their three children. He loves spending time with the kids, and being serenaded by Carrie’s glorious voice – although these loves are so often curtailed on account of strong requests for his artistic services. Ben grew up in a faith community in which Peter served in the late 1970s and again in the early 1990s.
